The global crude oil rates determine the LPG cylinder prices in Mumbai. Any increase or decrease in the crude oil prices at the global level and the currency exchange ratio will be taken into consideration before arriving at the LPG cylinder rates. The rallying crude prices have led to the recent hike in domestic LPG cylinder prices in Mumbai.
Currently, the prices of domestic LPG cylinder in Mumbai stands at Rs 851, up by Rs 56 per cylinder.?
Usually, LPG cylinder is available for both domestic as well as commercial purposes. The domestic ones are generally used across all the houses for cooking and heating purpose. The commercial ones are used in hotels, restaurants, factories, industries and so on.
To help the middle-class customers, the government of India is providing subsidy on domestic LPG cylinders and the same will be credited to the individual's bank account post purchase of LPG cylinder through the distributor. The government of India is crediting a subsidy amount of Rs 396 per cylinder as on October 2018. During September 2018, a subsidy amount of Rs 337 per each cylinder was credited to the customer's bank account. The recent increase in subsidy amount by the central government has hiked the subsidized rates on each of the domestic cylinder to the tune of Rs 59 per cylinder.
